Montréal Photo Club

NoticeOpen call since October 2026

The club is looking for new stewards.

I no longer have the time to keep the Montréal Photo Club going the way it deserves. I'm looking for one or more people to take over.

Hi everyone,

I started the club in 2018, after a few Unsplash photowalks and a first Métro Photo Challenge. The idea was simple: go out, take photos, and meet other photographers, whatever their camera or skill level.

Then the pandemic threw a wrench in all of it. Just weeks after our last workshop, gathering a bunch of strangers to roam the metro with cameras was off the table, and the club went dormant for a long while.

When things opened back up, life had gotten busy. I don’t host as many outings as I’d like, and the club has slowed down. I’d rather say it plainly than let it fade away in silence.

Because despite everything, I believe photography remains a social and creative practice the world needs. A photowalk is an excuse to see your city differently, to get out of the house, and to talk to strangers who sometimes become friends. That’s worth keeping alive.
